What We Do

SRVS is the largest provider of services for individuals with disabilities in West Tennessee, supporting more than 1,000 individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities. SRVS raises money through donations, special event fundraisers, grants and United Way contributions to help fund our programs. Donations from individuals, corporations, government and the United Way of the Mid-South are accepted to help enhance the lives of the individuals we serve.

We are funded through the Tennessee Division of Intellectual Disabilities Services, Tennessee Department of Human Services (Division of Rehabilitation Services), U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Federal Government (ICF/MR, Medicaid Waiver), City of Memphis, United Way of the Mid-South, Title V Program Support from Meritan, Private Pay by Individuals, sales from SOS Industries, and private contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations.

SRVS has always set the standard of care for excellence in providing services to people with disabilities. In 2010 alone, SRVS achieved a 3 star ranking from the TN Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities; Ranked at the highest level in Dr. Nancy K. Ray’s Quality Tier of the Federal Court Monitor’s report; Was awarded “Exceptional” performance by the West TN Regional Office’s Quality Management Committee’s Quality Assurance Survey; Scored “Outstanding” by REAC (Real Estate Assessment Center) for management of SRVS’ United States Housing and Urban Development homes for the elderly; Was a member of the inaugural class of the Center for Non-Profit Alliance’s Program for Non-Profit Excellence, and SRVS staff helped develop Home Manager’s Certificate Program for direct support professionals.
